GENUINE BMW Aramid Antenna Cover. The antenna cover made of aramid fibre-reinforced plastic is an optical and functional highlight on the car roof. Due to the fact that aramid fibres and carbon fibres look extremely similar, this product completes the “carbon” look on cars with the carbon package or other carbon exterior components. The function of the antenna is maintained as aramid delivers high permeability for electromagnetic waves. Carbon, on the other hand, has a shielding effect and cannot be used for antenna covers. The innovative material delivers full functionality with a sporty, carbon-type look. The antenna cover rounds off the Carbon exterior portfolio perfectly. The aramid antenna cover is particularly durable and corrosion-resistant. At BMW, “aramid” is used to describe aramid fibre-reinforced plastic used in special exterior component accessories, similar to the term “carbon” which stands for carbon fibrereinforced plastic. Aramid is a premium fibre composite material which is similar to carbon in terms of appearance and how it is worked. In contrast to carbon, components made of it have a high level of electromagnetic permeability. Aramid has a lower density than carbon and is therefore even lighter than carbon. To date, aramid fibres have mainly been used in rally cars (underbody guards) or sailing (carbon-aramid hybrid sales) as well as in ballistic protection for bullet-proof vests and in armoured vehicles. This product will need to be bonded to the roof in place of the original cover. If interested please message us with your registration to make sure you car is compatible.
